I have always wanted to be an artist.

As a child, I was always creating. I took art lessons, then painting lessons with a local artist through middle school. First I learned watercolors and then oil paints, finally moving to acrylics in high school. I started a degree in studio arts with a concentration in photography before realizing that college was not the right path for me and dropping out. My life bounced around for a bit while I joined the Army, started a family, and eventually found myself missing art. I made my way back to school and fell in love with printmaking, but that was interrupted by a deployment to Iraq.

After my deployment, I slowly worked towards completing my education, and eventually I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, only to discover that I do not like designing for clients, so I began to focus on photography again, with a little bit of printmaking and painting.

The loss of my best friend and biggest supporter in 2018 pushed me back to my painting roots. This focus caused me to rediscover my passion for art and the joy of putting color on canvas. I now work primarily with acrylic paint on canvas.

My work and process can be found on Facebook and Instagram.
